Main Purpose:


Cover the Latin America region with a primary focus on countries south and east of Colombia (Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina).


Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 8 years' experience as an economist / analyst at a bank, a consultancy, a trading company, an investment fund, a mining company or similar.
  • Understanding where to find and how to analyse relevant macroeconomic data.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft office software, used to preparing written reports and giving presentations. Additional software skills in SQL, Python, Tableau, PowerBI etc are an advantage but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the chief economist.
  • Main tasks:
  • Regular updates on the macro economic environment in the region.
  • Insight on the political landscape and the implications for economic decisions.
  • Specific updates on policy towards extractive industries especially metals and mining.
  • International relations in the region intraregion and relationships between eg China, Europe, US. In particular, how these relationships impact on investment flows.
