Postdoc at Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Lab

Research laboratory on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (rCLL) announces a postdoctoral position for research with a focus on the role of Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) during tumor progression.
The position is placed at the rCLL, Institut Pasteur Montevideo and funded through the collaborative project **_“Understanding the role of MDSCs during CLL progression”_**, between the Platform and Technology Science of Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) and the rCLL.
**Goal of the project**
Analyze the role of the MDSCs and proinflammatory molecules during CLL progression and the effects of MDSCs depletion as a new therapeutic tool in this neoplasm. Technical approaches such as flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, cell sorter, quantitative PCR and single cell RNAseq analysis will be carried out.
***Work duties**
The main duties involved in a post-doctoral position is to conduct research. The postdoc will include 80% participation in the main project as well as 20% participation in other research lines in the CLL biology field.
As a postdoc it is expected to work closely with colleagues at rCLL laboratory and collaborate with medical hematologist of different institutions in Uruguay.
**Qualification requirements**
Appointment to this postdoc position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, and mínimal two peer reviewed publications as first author.
Additional requirements:
- Relevant research background and experience for the research and work duties in the project.
- A background in immunology and oncology fields are desirable.

**Terms of employment**
This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of a 2 years. Extension of the post-doc position for two additional years could be possible.
