**Position Summary**

We are looking for a Junior Data Science-oriented Python Developer to join our Data Operations team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a foundational understanding of Python, SQL, and Linux, and a keen interest in data science. As a Junior Developer, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow within our dynamic team, contributing to the development of data-driven solutions. Knowledge of Postgres as the primary database engine is a plus, and familiarity with PowerBI will be considered advantageous.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with team members to understand data requirements and assist in developing data solutions
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of data processing pipelines using Python and SQL
- Gain experience in utilizing Linux environments for data handling and processing tasks
- Work with datasets, ensuring data quality and assisting in data analysis tasks
- Support the development and implementation of basic machine learning models
- Assist in optimizing and fine-tuning database queries for improved system performance
- Collaborate with more experienced team members to address data-related challenges
- Provide support for basic data-related issues, troubleshooting, and timely problem resolution
- Stay curious and proactive in learning about industry trends and emerging technologies in data science

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled as a student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Basic understanding of Python programming and a willingness to learn and improve
- Familiarity with SQL for basic data manipulation and analysis
- Interest in working with Linux environments and a desire to develop skills in shell scripting
- Exposure to database concepts; experience with Postgres is a plus but not mandatory
- Familiarity with PowerBI or a willingness to learn data visualization tools
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and eagerness to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
- Good communication skills and an ability to learn from more experienced team members
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English

**Salary Range**: $50,000 to $65,000 UY “Compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills as well as the years of experience you have. Similar positions located in different geographic regions will not necessarily receive the same compensation.

**Location**:This is a hybrid position and will require the employee to come to our office in Montevideo 2 or 3 days per week. #LI-Hybrid
