Database Engineer

**Job Summary**:

- Provide 24x7 escalated database support (including weekends and holidays) for North America Zone breweries, vertical operation facilities, and other entities.
- Monitors & troubleshoots alerts (alert log, Jobs, Disk Group, Tablespace etc.) and performance issues. Performs database performance tuning tasks
- Monitors, prioritizes, and executes database support related requests while maintaining clear and consistent communication with customers.
- Performs installations and configurations of core infrastructure, databases, clients etc.
- Provides root cause analysis of production-related database issues.
- Evaluate and drives changes to database and software architectures to address recurring issues or limitations
- Takes ownership of understanding the business and operational problems at hand and how to best solve them through a data-driven approach
- Prioritize and find the most efficient path towards solving complex, ambiguous business problems with data, keeping a mindset of simplicity, robustness, and speed above all

**Qualifications**:

- BA/BS degree in Information Technology, CIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3 / 3-5+ years’ experience in a Database Engineer or Database Administrator role with key functions of administering and supporting multiple SQL databases for performance critical and highly available systems.
- Proficient knowledge and experience with the following relational databases: Sybase, MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL.
- Highly motivated individual always looking to grow and learn.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems, determine root cause and develop solutions
- Experience with database backup/restore procedures
- Must be able to read, write, and maintain database stored procedures
- Strong knowledge of data reporting platforms like SSRS, SSIS, and PowerBI.
- Excellent SQL and DB performance tuning skills.
- Experience in assisting and mentoring junior DBA staff.
- Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally.
