Regulatory Toxicologist

Area: EHS | Safety

Within our Global Business Service Safety Cluster, you will be part of the Americas toxicology team providing businesses with toxicology and risk assessment support for primarily North American toxicology issues. The North American toxicology team is directly aligned with the Global Toxicology Group.

**Requirements**:

- Education in Toxicology or Biological Sciences
- Expertise in US and/or EU chemical regulations, risk assessment and regulatory policy is preferred. Practical experience exercising risk assessment tools (e.g., PBPK modeling, BMD analyses).
- Certification by the American Board of Toxicology is preferred
- Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret toxicology information.
- Communicating hazard and risk information effectively to people with different levels of expertise, such as BASF colleagues, customers and regulators will be required.
- Ability to navigate SAP based systems used by BASF to manage and maintain information about our products.
- Demonstrating the ability to be creative, collaborative and motivated

**Responsibilities**:

- Be responsible for the assessment of BASF (primarily North American) products in toxicology and risk.
- Prepare expert opinions and evaluations of risk and materials, developing, analyzing and interpreting toxicology information.
- Work closely with experts in national and international project teams to support BASF products.
- Expand your current knowledge of new developments and follow new trends in chemical regulations, to evaluate their potential impacts on our products.
- Provide support for our US based toxicologists involved in litigation matters
- Monitor legislative changes in various world regions and initiate the communications and actions needed to resolve problems they precipitate.
- Participate in trade association activities using toxicological expertise to address regulatory issues and advocate against product deselection.
- Partner with global customers and suppliers to develop solutions to product regulatory and compliance issues.
