About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer Senior to join our team in delivering complex procurement solutions for all BASF divisions. As a key member of our global procurement team, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, and testing applications, as well as managing projects and collaborating with business partners and third-party providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop technical solutions for subject-specific business requirements, leveraging expertise in ABAP and customizing.
  • Develop, configure, and test complex applications, ensuring quality assurance and effective project management.
  • Implement and customize relevant digital applications to meet business needs.
  • Maintain operational business support in the BASF SAP application landscape.
  • Collaborate with third-party providers to deliver procurement solutions and services.
  • Lead implementation workstreams for SAP procurement modules.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business Informatics, or a comparable field.
  • Working Experience: 3-5 years of experience in building and supporting complex SAP applications, particularly in purchasing processes, and SAP API Portal. Additionally, 3-5 years of experience working with international project teams.
  • Language Skills: Advanced/fluent written and spoken language skills in English, with all meetings and workshops conducted in this language.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in Digital technology - S4/HANA, Fiori, UI5, API; basic skills in Agile way of working or agile implementation approach; advanced skills in programming in ABAP/ABAP Objects and other programming languages/technologies such as SAP UI5, Eclipse; intermediate skills in Problem management, Change Management (incl. small business requests) and Continuous Service Improvement (CSI); and valued skills in RPA/automation, Power Platform, Machine Learning/AI, etc.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal/intercultural skills in an international team setting; structured approach to problem-solving.

Benefits and Salary

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion ensures equal opportunities for all candidates and employees.
