**Our Client**
Our client is the first full-stack DeFi platform that enables institutions to participate directly in DeFi markets without having to substantially increase technical headcount and portfolio risk. Their robust infrastructure and unique interface layer provides their clients with reliable execution, an easy-to-use web UI and API, and full trade life cycle support.
**About the Role**
Our client is looking for experienced software engineers interested in writing composable and efficient code for their financial software platform. As an engineer on the backend team, you’ll architect and solve complex problems that will further influence the direction of the digital asset space, while providing direct experience integrating with financial products and markets. There’s a wide range of problems to solve - from developing innovative new blockchain products, to shaving microseconds off our API response times.
Our client has a strong culture of code reviews, and a focus on security, with the end goal of writing and shipping high-quality code by getting things right the first time and constant improvement. They want to continue building the best products they can for their clients as they scale and grow their business. Terraform / Ansible / OCaml / AWS
**As a Backend Engineer, you can expect to**:
- You will help refactor and maintain their core systems to prepare them to scale.
- Design and implement architecture that builds on top of their existing system and enables their platform to adapt and grow.
- Understand their core business objectives, then ideate and implement new features that will help them achieve their exciting goals
- Troubleshoot technical issues by leveraging your deep understanding of the systems and experience with technologies they leverage.
- Interface with other team members to build the critical portions of the app
**What We Value**:
- 5+ years experience in software engineering, ideally in dynamic, collaborative, high growth environments
- Experience with functional or typed programming language (while OCaml is not a requisite, a willingness to learn it is important)
- Self motivated with attention to detail
- Experience with some subset of the technologies we use
- Interest in learning and able to investigate
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
**THIS ROLE IS LOCATED ONSITE IN CHICAGO, IL. MUST BE OPEN TO RELOCATION.**
