**Main Purpose**:
Cover the Latin America region with a primary focus on countries south and east of Colombia (Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina).**Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities**:
Knowledge and Skills:
- 8 years' experience as an economist / analyst at a bank, a consultancy, a trading company, an investment fund, a mining company or similar.
- Understanding where to find and how to analyse relevant macro-economic data.
- Comfortable using Microsoft office software, used to preparing written reports and giving presentations. Additional software skills in SQL, Python, Tableau, PowerBI etc are an advantage but not required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the chief economist.
- Main tasks:

- Regular updates on the macro economic environment in the region.
- Insight on the political landscape and the implications for economic decisions.
- Specific updates on policy towards extractive industries - especially metals and mining.
- International relations in the region - intra-region and relationships between eg China, Europe, US. In particular, how these relationships impact on investment flows.
