SAP ABAP Developer Senior- Procurement

Main Objective:

BASF Services Americas S.R.L. is seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Developer Senior to join our Global Procurement Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing digital and core SAP procurement solutions to meet the requirements of our BASF companies.

Main Tasks:

  • Design and develop technical solutions for subject-specific business requirements using ABAP and customizing.
  • Develop, configure, and test complex applications, including quality assurance and project management in collaboration with business partners and third-party providers.
  • Implement and customize relevant digital applications to support our procurement processes.
  • Manage and maintain operational business support in our SAP application landscape.
  • Oversee third-party providers in terms of solution or service delivery for procurement topics.
  • Lead implementation workstreams for SAP procurement modules.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business Informatics, or a comparable field.
  • Working Experience: Years of experience in building and supporting complex SAP applications, especially in purchasing processes, and SAP API Portal experience in working with international project teams.
  • Language Skills: Advanced/fluent written and spoken language skills in English, as all meetings and workshops are conducted in English.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Digital technology - S4/HANA, Fiori, UI5, API, and basic skills in Agile way of working or agile implementation approach. Advanced skills in programming in ABAP/ABAP Objects and other programming languages/technologies such as SAP UI5, Eclipse. Intermediate skills in Problem management, Change Management (incl. small business requests) and Continuous Service Improvement (CSI). Valued: RPA / automation, Power Platform, Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence, etc.
  • Soft Skills: Advanced skills in communication, negotiation, and interpersonal/intercultural skills in an international team, and a structured approach to solve problems.
