**Main Purpose**:

Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
- 2 years experience in tax or accounting - energy industry experience is a plus- Strong written & verbal communications and numerical reasoning skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to be flexible and work to deadlines often under pressure
- Microsoft Excel, Word
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare tax returns, account reconciliations, data analysis, certificate management, respond to tax inquiries from counter parties and jurisdictions
- Document processes and conduct internal review of procedures to ensure adequate controls are in place to discharge tax compliance obligations
- Assist in systems improvements and development of IT systems and system-driven reports
- Other projects as may be assigned from time to time.
**Key Relationships and Department Overview**:
The key relationships of the role will be Trading, Operations Department, Accounting Department and Treasury Department.
- Trafigura's Indirect Tax department handles transaction-level tax reporting and control for the US and Canada. It analyzes new and existing transactions for tax risk and takes appropriate corrective action such as designing reports and examining business processes. The Indirect Tax Department operates in partnership with Commercial and other teams to ensure that taxes are properly reported and controlled for all of the businesses are in.- #LI-AP1Job ID R-011168
