Description

UKG is seeking a Quality Software Engineer to join our extremely talented Payroll Software team As a Quality Engineer, you will be embedded on one of our Payroll Development teams. You will be engaged in feature development focused on US Payroll calculations, reproducing and testing customer-found defects, along with writing.NET and SQL test automation. You will also get to work directly with other Quality Engineers, Developers, Business Analysts, and occasionally our support teams in a highly collaborative environment. You will have the opportunity to grow as a software tester Lead and help instill in others a passion for quality enterprise development.
Job Responsibilities:

- Execute different software development testing methodologies (Performance, White and Black Box testing)
- Documenting test efforts and communicating results to both a technical and non-technical audience
- Write and maintain UI, API and DB Test Automation that span from planning to delivery to maintenance of a feature
- Break down requirements and user scenarios into test scenarios and test cases
- Contribute to estimation of work and create test plan that aligns with project deliverables
- Be an evangelist for best testing and development practices
- Build tooling and infrastructure to measure and improve software quality, from stomping out flaky tests to reducing time to get well-tested code into production
- Work collaboratively to diagnose and triage production issues

**Qualifications**:
Basic Qualifications:

- 2-3 years’ experience with writing automated tests using C# or automated testing tool (Selenium, TestComplete)
- Ability to write SQL/noSQL queries
- Experience with the SDLC
- Experience executing different software development testing methodologies (Performance, White and Black Box testing)
- 2-3 years’ experience with agile/lean development methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with event-driven architecture and testing patterns
- Experience with object-oriented programming principles
- Quality Assurance certifications are a plus
- Prior experience with a CI system (TeamCity, Jenkins, etc.)
- Self-motivated, positive team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and technical aptitude
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
