Leader, People and Culture-LATAM

We are searching for a Director of People and Culture (P&C) for the LATAM region to collaborate with the Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO) and the regional P&C and market leadership team. The role involves ensuring short-term objectives are met while establishing a strong foundation for long-term growth. Responsibilities include streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing P&C program management, and working cross-functionally across the region to communicate objectives. The ideal candidate will possess experience in regional P&C leadership, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and project management skills. They should be able to demonstrate strategic leadership abilities while being hands-on in a fast-paced environment. The role is crucial in developing the people strategy roadmap and enhancing P&C capabilities within the region.

Location:

This position is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, or Montevideo, Uruguay (hybrid schedule).

How you will make an impact

  • Work with the CPCO to drive and monitor progress on the P&C roadmap with the P&C community and market leaders.
  • Design, establish, and lead cross-functional strategic initiatives with senior business and P&C leaders.
  • Provide guidance and collaborate with regional P&C leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams on talent assessment/management, engagement, succession planning, and people development.
  • Supervise the training, development, and mentoring of local P&C teams to deliver excellent P&C support.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate transformation and capability building in the region.
  • Lead both ad hoc and strategic projects.
  • Assist in designing and implementing Specialized's people strategy for the region.

Qualifications for success

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of diverse P&C experience in a dynamic environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in building and leading high-performing teams and developing talent.
  • Experience in implementing and managing compensation programs.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, Portuguese is a plus.
  • Expertise in providing meaningful P&C data insights and analytics for informed decisions.
  • Proven track record in leading significant change initiatives with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize team tasks in an ambiguous work environment.
  • Executive presence and influence within the organization.
  • Achieve results as a change agent.
  • Conduct complex data and business analyses to drive strategic decisions.
  • Practice discretion, diplomacy, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
