Our Opportunity

We are looking for a new Business Development- DEPOT to join our team and provide exceptional service being responsible to assist the commercial drive of the Depot and EMR activities in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay, as well as project development in all its aspects (scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources). The role has the dual responsibility of developing and structuring the product that enables all commercial channels to be successful in selling Depot and EMR services to new and existing customer of Maersk.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Product/Project development Responsibilities – Developing, maintaining and communicating an attractive Depot and EMR service value proposition to new and existing customers, based on data collection, scenario analysis, cost studies, pricing, etc.
  • Accountable for developing a Depot and EMR product strategy that provides a platform for future Maersk product development and enhancement. While the initial focus is depot and EMR services, this will eventually include exploring and developing other services linking to transport modes, e.g. barge, etc, as well as links to other service offers including but not limited to warehousing and distribution, cold chain logistics and others, aligned with the responsible areas.
  • Accountable for giving accurate support to the commercial teams enabling the continued revenue growth achieved from selling Depot, EMR and associated services when possible (e.g. customs services, deconsolidation, final delivery, etc).
  • Accountable for increasing awareness in the commercial organization of the opportunities in depot and EMR through development and communication of new service solutions.
  • Accountable for ensuring the compatibility between the Depot and EMR product offering and the supply chain solution products offered by Maersk.
  • Accountable (in collaboration with procurement) to negotiate service level agreements and prices with vendors/partners.
  • Assisting with the implementation of programs and projects. Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and projects, coordinating project activities, collaborating with project team members, developing measurable project goals and objectives, and monitoring progress toward achievement.
  • Responsibility over Business Plan preparation as well as P&L development/structuring + monitoring/reporting.
  • Commercial Responsibilities – Actively supporting commercial teams with Depot and EMR opportunities from new customers and from existing portfolio of customers.
  • Accountable for ensuring that the Depot and EMR product value propositions sold are fully scoped with robust pre- and post sales studies/engagement on large opportunities, solutions building, pricing, carrier/vendor management and operational team members in preparation for flawless execution. Ensuring (vendor)contracts / agreements are vetted and authorized by signatories.
  • Accountable for capturing and escalating 'success stories' from significant customer wins and supporting knowledge transfer to team members for ongoing competency improvement.
  • Pursuing to actively visit direct or indirect potential customers.
  • Develop performance indicators/controls for the area/projects.
  • Continually evaluate/monitor product development/status.
  • Develop other activities, in the same level of complexity, according to requests from Product Manager.
  • Always work as a safety ambassador and always consider global HSSE guidelines when developing products and in day to day activities.

  • Education: Bachelor degree in Business, logistics, International Trade or similar).
  • Experience:2 years in logistics/supply chain/operations/project management.
  • Language: Spanish Advanced, English advanced.
  • IT: Office Package (must be able to create P&L and projects based on data mapping, collection and analysis).
